Continuing its quest for superior service to its customers Merit has launched a series of 1 day training courses for SOM. These cover the following key areas:

SOM Order Processing - Course length - The objective of this course is to train operational and project staff in the practical use of SOM Orders, Customer data management and Product data management.

SOM Recipes and Costing - Course length 1 Day - The objective of this course is to train operational and project staff in the practical use of SOM recipes, ingredient and base-mix data management and how to use this data for costing, production-planning and replenishment.

SOM Purchasing and Stock Control - Course length - The objective of this course is to train operational and project staff in the practical use of SOM Purchase Ordering, Goods Receiving and Stock Management and how to use this data for replenishment, stock control and valuations.

SOM Data Mining - Course length 1 hour - The objective of this practical course is to train IT staff and Super-Users to get even more out of their SOM ERP data using desktop tools such as MS Access, MS Excel and MS Query. SOM is an open database product so the data is readily available using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) for additional reports and enquiries, both formally prepared and ad hoc, to complement the standard SOM reports. Typical requirements include sales trend analysis, forecast ingredient costs and revenues, aged debtors as a “mail-merge” source, or order reference searches.

The courses are launched at an unbelievably low price of £595 per day (plus expenses) for a limited period and they are fully documented.

A key advantage is that the courses are given on the customers' premises, so reducing disruption to daily schedules and avoiding the need for overnight accommodation or travel costs. As many staff as you like can attend but we suggest 6-8 maximum, so the cost of training per staff member is minimised.

In addition to course documentation the new SOM manual will also be provided.
